2019.07.02 Hyundai ST&P Co., Ltd. announced on July 2 that it has signed an MOU with Miraeohsung Holdings Co., Ltd. on " Ridesharing platform business partnership." The meeting was attended by key officials from the two companies, including Miraeohsung Group Chairman Kim Bum-chang and Hyundai ST&P President Hwang Jung-koo. Hyundai ST&P is a venture company that develops and manufactures vehicle parts and telecommunication equipment and obtained patents for "Car parts maintenance press" and "Brake pad wear control system" in 2017 and succeeded in attracting investment from Miraeohsung Group in the same year. Hyundai ST&P was selected by the Korea Association for Industrial Technology Promotion in 2018 to participate in a technology support project with a Chinese auto parts company, and is recognized for its technological prowess at home and abroad by carrying out state-run tasks of the Ministry of Small and Medium Venture Business. In particular, 'Brake pad wear management system' is a technology that provides automatic notification function to the driver through the application after measuring the degree of wear of the brake pad step by step. In the meantime, it was common for brake pads to be used only when they were completely worn. Thickness measurement sensor was required to improve the alarm form before brake pad was completely worn, but the cost of this sensor was so high that it was difficult to secure marketability. However, Hyundai ST&P developed a resistance circuit and a communication module to measure the wear of the brake pads in stages, informing the driver in advance, and succeeded in securing marketability by drastically reducing the cost of the wear measurement sensor. This technology minimizes the risk of secondary costs, such as replacing the disc, caused by failure to replace the brake pads at an appropriate time, thereby preventing safety accidents. 'Brake pad wear management system' is applicable not only to luxury cars but also to all vehicles such as general passenger cars, trucks, motorcycles and kick boards. In the future, if this system is applied to AI-based autonomous vehicles, it will be able to secure big data about safety and braking, which is a key factor, and it is expected to generate synergy with the ride sharing platform business. president Hwang Jung-koo said, "Through this MOU, we plan to start a full-scale business by platforming various projects such as automobile minor repair, tire exchange, parking lot provision, etc.” |
