Miraeohsung Holdings has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with China's Skywell New Energy Group on July 15 on the import and export of electric vehicle parts.

The agreement was attended by key members of the two companies, including Kim Bum-Chang, CEO of Miraeohsung Group, Huang hong-sheng Skyworth Group and Skywell Group Chairman.

With the MOU, Miraeohsung Holdings will form a strategic alliance with Skywell Group on importing 10 to 17-seat electric vehicle complete vehicles and parts into South Korea. Through this, Miraeohsung Holdings will have an assembly line in South Korea with technical support from Skywell Group to assemble parts into finished cars.

Miraeohsung Holdings will first supply finished cars to the vehicle-sharing platform business, and will be in charge of sales and exports of the domestic market.

In addition, Skywell Group also cooperated with automotive technologies(ACAS) that are owned by Miraeohsung Holdings' affiliates and discussed jointly exploring Chinese markets.

Representative for Miraeohsung Group said, "In order to speed up its vehicle sharing platform business, our Group has recently been working on building up its business with companies that have potential inside of it. also, the agreement will provide stable supply of electric vehicles, one of the essential eco-friendly vehicles for the car-sharing platform project. Following the sharing electric vehicles, riding electric cars are also in separate talks with companies that will proceed with imports from the country in the future.“

Meanwhile, Skywell New Energy Automotive Group is an affiliate of home appliance maker Skyworth, which ranks second in the Chinese TV sector, and its headquarters is located in Nanjing.

It is a high-tech enterprise that provides R & D, production, sales and service of new energy finished car and core parts, and the total investment in finished car business in China is 10 billion yuan (about 1.7 trillion won). As of June, Skywell Group ranks second in bus sales of more than 5 meters in China.
